Peoria Lead Drinking Water Notice
This is an important notification from Illinois American Water. As part of our lead and copper monitoring requirements, we collected 103 water samples between January 2025 and June 2025 in the Peoria water system. As required, the samples were collected in homes and buildings, prioritizing those with existing lead service lines. Results of these tests indicated that 14 samples of the those collected, exceeded the action level for lead. Please note that these results are specific to each of the sites tested. We are required by state and federal regulations to issue a drinking water notice to customers within the Peoria water system. A full notice is available to view on Illinois American Water’s website and includes information on sampling, common sources of lead, steps we are taking in response, and what you can do to reduce your potential exposure to lead.
