This is a notification from Virginia American Water. Our contractor, J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, will begin a water main replacement on Old Dominion Blvd (from Beverly Drive to Tennessee Avenue), Circle Hill Road (from Old Dominion Blvd to Carolina Place), and Carolina Place (from Washington Circle to Cul-De-Sac). This project will improve water service reliability and increase water flow for firefighting needs. Weather permitting, construction work will begin the week of March 31, 2025. Work will take place Monday through Friday, with Saturday work as needed, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. We estimate the water pipeline construction and final asphalt paving restoration of the water line trench will be completed by the end of September 2025. It is important to note that our contractor will try to keep one traffic lane open at all times to local traffic as long as it can be done safely. Construction does not impact access to homes and driveways of residents. Please follow traffic control and the “NO PARKING” signage to be posted by City of Alexandria. Some construction noise will be unavoidable with this project, but our contractor will work to minimize the disturbance. If you are a landlord and water service is in your name, please inform your tenants so they are aware of this construction.
