New Jersey American Water is aware of the Taste & Odor concerns that occurred in parts of Middletown, Holmdel and Hazlet in northern Monmouth county over the past week. While not a health concern, this was due to seasonal algal activity in the source water that generally occurs in the colder months of the year, and was only temporary. We are no longer seeing any impacts from this and we apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused to customers.
