Hello! This is an important notification from Illinois American Water. Our crews will be performing cut and caps in Cairo. Weather Permitting, the project will start on October 23, 2026 and be completed by approximately October 30, 2026. You reside in the affected area and may experience a service interruption or low water pressure. Repairs are expected to take place from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday.When water is restored after the work has been completed, you will be under a Boil Water Order. Any water to be used for drinking or cooking should be brought to a rolling boil for 5 minutes. Water is OK for bathing, washing, and other common uses. You will be notified when the boil order has been lifted. If you are a landlord and water service is in your name, please inform your tenants so they are aware of this impact to their water service. In keeping with American Water’s focus on safety for both customers and employees, please do not approach our crews while they work.
